    Hello,

Here’s a question regarding Academic Renewal. Will AR erase the bad quarters from one’s transcript, or can schools still see the quarters in question?

You would have to ask your college about that because the policies are very specific to each institution. We wrote about an example of Academic Renewal at one particular community college: http://transferweb.com/all-transfers/didnt-do-well-my-first-semester-do-i-still-have-a-shot-at-transferring/#.UPI_a-gk9E5

According to this college’s webpage on Academic Renewal, it looks like your record would at least show that you were granted Academic Renewal, but it’s not exactly clear if your past grades would also be reveled. Here’s what the webpage for that college says

If and when the petition is granted, the student’s permanent record will be annotated so that it is readily evident to all users of the record that no units taken during the disregarded term(s), even if satisfactory, will apply toward units for graduation or any other educational objective. All work must remain legible on the record, ensuring a true and complete academic history.
