I am applying to UVA, Emory, Vanderbilt, and Boston College. I know it is late but…

    1) How should I go about asking for a recommendation essay..?
    2) Can/Should I use my old 500 word essay I used for initial applications again?

    1. Write a very polite email to your professors to ask for a recommendation letter. Explain that, though you have been learning a lot at your current college, you want to transfer to another school that would better help you reach your goals.

    2. It is best to write new essays for your transfer applications. Transfer applicants have shown me their freshman application essays, and I have never seen one that I would recommend re-using.
