Description

Adams State College is a public liberal arts college located in Alamosa, Colorado. The 90-acre campus sits in the San Luis Valley surrounded by stunning natural beauty. The city of Pueblo is about two hours to the northeast. Adams State students can choose from 16 majors and 28 minors. Business is the most popular among undergraduates, and education and counseling dominate at the master's level. Academics are supported by an 18 to 1 student faculty ratio, and professors serve as students' academic advisors. Student life is active with over 40 clubs and organizations. On the athletic front, the Adams State Grizzlies compete in the NCAA Division II Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The college fields nine men's and nine women's intercollegiate sports.

A minimum GPA of 2.30 is recommended.

Minimum Grades for Transfer:
Adams State will accept work in which grades of A, B, C, P (pass), CR (credit) and S were earned for transfer credit. Courses with a grade of D are not accepted for transfer unless the course is an integral part of an associates degree.

Credits (Min/Max):
There is no limit to the number of transfer hours accepted. However, students are required to complete a minimum of 30 institutional hours to obtain a BA or BS degree.

Test Scores for Applying:
Official ACT or SAT scores are required of transfer students with less than 13 transferable credits.

Letters of Recommendation Required:
Transfer students with a cumulative grade point average below 2.30 will be considered on an individual basis and are strongly encouraged to submit letter(s) of recommendation.

If you have less than a 2.30 GPA, you are strongly encouraged to submit a personal statement.
