Minimum GPA for Applying:
If you are applying to Cal State East Bay as either a first-time freshman or a lower-division transfer and your high school grade point average was less than 3.0, you must take either the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

Minimum Grades for Transfer:
Transfer applicants must have grades of C or higher to be considered as transferable credit.

Credits (Min/Max):
Must have completed a minimum of 12 quarter/semester transferable units to apply as a transfer. A max of 70 semester units of credit is accepted from community colleges, and a max of 141 quarter units of credit is accepted from 4-year institutions.

Test Scores for Applying:
If you have fewer than 90 transferable quarter units (60 semester units) you must submit ACT/SAT scores . If your high school grade point average is at least 3.00 (3.61 for nonresidents) the test score requirement will be waived.

Letters of Recommendation Required:
You must be in good standing at the last college or university attended for admission consideration.

Essay(s) required:
Cal State East Bay does not publish a requirement for the submission of an essay. There is no request for an essay with the application.

The $55 admission application fee, but it can be waived.
