Carlow is a small, private, comprehensive university offering excellent professional and liberal arts programs. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy, Carlow is located in Pittsburgh, one of the largest college towns in the country, with over 25,000 students in Oakland alone. Transfer students can choose from over 50 undergraduate programs to complete their bachelors' degree. Carlow also offers nontraditional programs in evening and weekend formats. Minimum GPA for Applying:
Minimum GPA to be considered for admissions is 2.0. Students transferring to Carlow for Social Work must have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Perfusion Technology must have a minimum 2.8 GPA. Education or Nursing must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Minimum Grades for Transfer:
Grades must be a "C" or above to be transferred to Carlow. Courses taken for pass/fail or satisfactory/unsatisfactory grades may only be transferred if it can be verified that a pass or satisfactory grade is equivalent to a C or higher.

Credits (Min/Max):
A maximum of 88 credits can be transferred from another institution. However, a maximum of 65 credits will transfer into 100- and 200-level Carlow equivalent courses.

Test Scores for Applying:
As long as students have completed at least one full time (12 credits) semester at another college and meet the set minimum transfer admissions criteria, standardized test scores are not required.
