Named after the nearby Juniata River, Juniata College is a private liberal arts college located in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, a small town situated between Harrisburg and Pittsburgh. The 110-acre main campus is complimented by a 365-acre environmental studies field station and a 315-acre nature preserve. The school has a 13 to 1 student / faculty ratio and an impressive average class size of 14. Juniata does not have traditional majors, but "programs of emphasis." 30% of students design their own program, although biology is the most popular are of study at the college. In athletics, the Juniata Eagles compete mostly in the NCAA Division III Landmark Conference. Football competes in the Centennial Conference.

The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a C- or higher.

A transfer applicant must have a minimum number of 15 credits completed or else must apply as an entering freshman. Maximum number of credits or courses that may be transferred from a two-year institution is 60 and from a four-year institution is 90.
