Founded in 1860, Augustana is a selective, private, residential, comprehensive (liberal arts and professional) college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Minimum GPA for Applying:
In general, if you have been enrolled in an associate or baccalaureate degree program at an accredited college or university and possess a minimum grade point average of 2.25 (4.0 scale), you will be considered for admission.

Minimum Grades for Transfer:
Only courses in which the student earned a C- or better are eligible for transfer credit.

Credits (Min/Max):
The actual number of credits accepted for the major will be determined by the appropriate department chairperson. Students must complete a minimum of 30 hours of coursework at Augustana to receive a degree.

Test Scores for Applying:
Augustana requires the submission of all ACT/SAT test scores.

Letters of Recommendation Required:
The submission of a completed Recommendation form is required.

Essay(s) required:
You must submit an essay (250 words minimum) on a topic of your choice, graded or otherwise, which best illustrates your writing ability.

Transfer students must have 2.0 (C) grade point average for all previous college/university course work. Students not meeting the 2.0 GPA admission requirement may be admitted on academic probation.

If you earned less than a "C" in a course, the credit will not be accepted within the major or minor, and in some instances, within the general education requirements.

A maximum of 64 semester hours will be accepted from an accredited junior/community college.
