Description

Brigham Young is a private university owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. With around 35,000 students, Brigham Young is the largest religious university in the U.S., and the second largest private university (note that Liberty University is a larger Christian university if online students are counted). Located in Provo, Utah, Brigham Young makes the gospel of Jesus Christ central to the running of the university. 98% of Brigham Young students are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and large percentage of students do missionary work during their college years. In athletics, the BYU Cougars compete in the NCAA Division I West Coast Conference.

Minimum GPA for Applying:
A minimum 3.0 college grade point average is required of transfer applicants.

Minimum Grades for Transfer:
The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is a C- or higher.

Credits (Min/Max):
Max number of credits or courses that may be transferred from a 2-year institution is 80. Max number of credits or courses that may be transferred from a 4-year institution is 90. You must complete a min of 30 credits at BYU to earn a bachelors degree.

Test Scores for Applying:
If you have fewer than 30 credit hours, the submission of official SAT or ACT scores is required.

Letters of Recommendation Required:
LDS applicants must interview with your LDS bishop/branch president, and with a member of your stake or district presidency for recommendation purposes. Non LDS applicants may interview with any local LDS Bishop. Their recommendations are required.

Essay(s) required:
An essay is required for admission consideration.

You will be required to pay a $35 non-refundable application fee.
