I remember one of the former transfer students in The Transfer Book mentioned that it is harder to get credit for the more specific upper-level courses. As a freshman applicant applying for sophomore standing, would it be a bad idea to take upper-level courses? I want to show that I’m seeking the most rigorous curriculum, yet want credit for them. Which side of the tradeoff should I lean towards to be most strategic when trying to transfer to top-tier schools?
