Description

We serve students from the entire state of California, but 31 percent of our undergraduate students come from Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties. We pride ourselves on making higher education accessible to traditionally underserved (34%) and low-income (30%) populations. Nearly seventy percent of our students receive some form of financial aid. Forty-seven percent of our students are among the first generation of their family to go to college. A few more things set us apart from other CSUs. We're smaller than most, with about 4,800 students. Of those, 52 percent live on campus. Our campus is on the former Fort Ord Army base, which closed in 1994, and so it has a different feel.
