Description

HGTC currently serves the six counties in the service area through adult education, credit programs, continuing education offerings and customized business and industry training. Adult Education classes are offered in every county in the service area. Credit programs are offered on the main campus, at the Little Ocmulgee Instructional Center, at the Eastman Youth Development Center, at the Dodge County Instructional Center, and in every high school in the service area. Credit programs are offered at the Technical Certificate of Credit, Diploma, and Associate of Applied Science level. HGTC works to promote workforce and economic development in the service area through technical and adult education.

Minimum GPA for Applying:
HGTC does not publish a minimum GPA requirement for transfer admission consideration.

Minimum Grades for Transfer:
Credit will be allowed for those courses in which the student has earned a grade of "C" or better and which are equivalent to courses taught at HGTC.

Credits (Min/Max):
The maximum credit awarded through any combination of transfer or exemption testing is limited to 50 percent of the program's total credit hours required for graduation, excluding apprenticeship, joint or dual enrollment students.

Test Scores for Applying:
You must take the placement test (COMPASS) or provide proof of completion of college level math and English with a "C" or better before acceptance can take place.

Letters of Recommendation Required:
HGTC does not publish a requirement for letters of recommendation.

Essay(s) required:
HGTC does not publish a requirement for an essay or personal statement, nor do they ask for one on the application.

Application Fee:
There is a $20 nonrefundable application fee.

Other Requirements:
Allied Health students that have completed designated courses and wish to enter the program courses must complete an application to compete by the posted deadlines. Please see the competitive policy for more details.
