Houghton College provides an academically challenging, Christ-centered education in the liberal arts and sciences to students from diverse traditions and economic backgrounds and equips them to lead and labor as scholar-servants in a changing world. Located in western New York State, 70 miles from Buffalo and Rochester and 15 minutes south of LetchworthPark. The location is ideal for building relationships, reflection, deep fellowship and recreation. On the 1,300 acres of our forested campus, you can find perfect places for study, prayer, worship and outdoor activities. We have 1,200 undergraduates from 40 states, 25 countries and 40 Christian denominations. 88% of our faculty have a PhD or terminal degree in their field.

Minimum GPA for Applying:
Transfer students are welcome at Houghton with preference given to individuals who present a gradepoint average of 2.75 or higher.

Minimum Grades for Transfer:
Transfer credit will be given for appropriate courses completed in which a grade of C- or above has been earned.

Credits (Min/Max):
Students can transfer a maximum of 67 hours from a community college. You must complete a minimum of 30 credit hours at Houghton and complete at least 50 percent of your major requirements at Houghton.

Test Scores for Applying:
SAT or ACT scores are generally not required for transfers.

Letters of Recommendation Required:
Houghton requires the submission of a Christian Character Recommendation for completed by your pastor, youth worker, Sunday school teacher or other adult who can serve as your Christian character reference.

Essay(s) required:
Two essays are required and are described on the application.

There is a $40 nonrefundable application fee.
