Description

Founded in 1865, Ottawa University is a private institution affiliated with the Baptist Church. The main residential campus is located in Ottawa, Kansas, about 45 minutes south of Lawrence and an hour southwest of Kansas City. The university also has been expanding its online offerings in recent years, and the school also has campuses for working adults in Phoenix, Milwaukee, Kansas City, and Jeffersonville (Indiana). Among the traditional undergraduates at the Ottawa campus, business is the most popular area of study. On the student life front, the university offers more than 20 student organizations and 16 varsity athletic teams. The Ottawa Braves compete in the NAIA Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
