Descriptive Research describes the characteristics of the population, phenomenon, situation, or group under study. The purpose of descriptive research “> is to discover particular patterns or traits. However, if the subject that students are given isn’t clear enough it helps reveal more details. To conduct descriptive research, it is necessary to explain a situation or circumstance systematically.

Surveys are a huge array of information that can further be analyzed using patterns and other traits.

Determining what demographics define a nation or region.

Through the use of case studies, researchers can analyze and describe the subject matter that is similar to the person or group. When analyzing case studies, generalized information is replaced by difficult assumptions or specific details which reveal something about the subject.
